GIVE/SERVE

The ministries at Community Church are supported entirely by the generous giving of our friends and members. Online giving is a safe, secure and easy way to support our ministries. This system enables you to support the church by making a one time contribution or establishing a recurring contribution. If you have any questions, please contact our office; we thank you in advance for your faithfulness and support.

Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must become your slave. For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others . . . ." - Matthew 20:26-28

In sports and the business world, a Dream Team is the best of the best coming together to accomplish a united goal. In the kingdom of God, the best of the best are those who SERVE, following the example of Christ! So, our Dream Team is made up of servants who work together to accomplish God's objectives on the earth.

There are many different opportunities to serve based on your interests, skills, and spiritual gifts. Each position is vital and plays a part in reaching our city for Christ. When someone makes a decision to accept Jesus as Savior, each Dream Team member is a part of that salvation!

Where should I serve?

Administrative

If you wish to help with administrative tasks, there are many ways you can become involved. Here are a few examples! Team Thursday: Every Thursday at 1:00 pm, SCC members come together to help the church in preparing for future events, running errands, and simply being available on the SCC campus. Transcription: Transcription is performed on a regular basis, and it allows God’s message to be heard by a wider audience. I’ll Do Anything! If you are willing to serve but don’t have a particular area of interest, contact us and we’ll see your gifts put to work for God’s Kingdom.

First Impressions

There are opportunities for you to become involved with us even on Sunday mornings. The First Impressions team helps to make sure every single person who walks through our doors feels loved and appreciated. This team includes the Ushers, Greeters, Parking Lot, Hospitality, and Special Events.

Children’s Ministries

God is doing amazing things in our children’s lives. Every Sunday our children are excited about services at both the SCC and NCC campuses. Volunteers are always welcome and needed on both campuses to help the nursery, assist in a children’s church service or teach a Sunday school class.

Student Ministries

Our young people are discovering what it is to know God and to impact the world around them. The student ministries department is always busy with services, game nights, evangelistic events, powerful retreats, and community outreaches. The services are lively and life-changing, both for the youth and the leaders who serve them.

Wise and Wonderful

The Wise and Wonderful group is our senior adults’ ministry which holds monthly prayer breakfasts and remarkable trips on a regular basis. There are many ways to be a blessing to this special group in our congregation.

318 Live

You would not believe what God is doing among the young adults in Shreveport through 318 Live! Once a month, they minister to the poor of our city and host frequent special events. You can help this ministry by organizing events, setting up sound equipment and assisting during services.

Music Ministries

The music ministries department of SCC presents powerful worship music every Sunday and Wednesday, as well as special music presentations throughout the year. You can join the choir, orchestra, or the band

Missions

SCC believes in fulfilling the Great Commission all around the world. We are actively involved in reaching the world for Christ in a few important ways. Both Missions Trips and Interpretation Services are important parts of this vital outreach.

Community Care

We understand that community care is a vital aspect of our ministry. The book of James reminds us, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is looking after orphans and widows in their distress…” There are several ways you can help those in need. For example, Ministry to the Sick and Shut-ins, LSU Sandwich Ministry, Driving Buses to bring people to church, Crisis Relief Teams, Distribution Center. and Bereavement Support.

The Crew

It takes a lot of people to keep a service running smoothly! The Crew is a group of young men and women who do just that every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. Whether it is a pulpit that needs to be moved, a stage that must be prepared or a video camera that needs to be operated, The Crew is always faithful to serve our church every week.

Media Ministries

Do you have a background or an interest in media? There are always opportunities available to serve our media department. Web design, graphic arts, video editing, and photographers are all needed on a weekly, monthly, or even special event basis.

Local Outreach

Do you desire to tell others in our community about Jesus? We are involved in reaching out to the Shreveport-Bossier community in a number of ways and would love for you to join us. We have outreaches to the truck stop, the race track, prison outreach, and biker outreach. We also partner with the Hub, the Shreveport Rescue Mission, and other local ministries to provide food to the homeless and those in need.

The Bookstore

The SCC Bookstore is open before and after each church service. It is maintained by a team of volunteers that ensure it will be an incredible resource for our community.
